The Yen Wulin Alaska Chinese School

The ACA has run the Yen Wulin Alaska Chinese School since 1984. Our Chinese school is open to the public, and provides a nurturing environment for those who want to learn the Chinese language and culture. Our principal and staff are all volunteers, and tuition fees go toward facility rental, teaching supplies, and transportation costs.

We currently have over 80 students enrolled in 8 classes from Kindergarten to 12th grade, plus an adult class. Each class covers speaking and comprehension, as well as reading and writing in both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. We may also provide an adult English class for newcomers to learn basic conversational English and American culture on Friday night at the same time as Chinese School. Fall 2024 semester will open on September 6th, 2024. We continue to accept new students to our five classes of various levels, including beginners, Intermediate I and II, Advanced, and Adult. The registration fee is $175/semester for members and $200/semester for non-members (Credit Card, Check, or Cash).

Instruction location: Northwood Elementary, 4807 Northwood Dr., Anchorage 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the School Year

Registration Information: Yen Wulin Alaska Chinese School 2024 Fall Semester registration is on September 6, 2024, 6:00pm, at Northwood Elementary in the Multi-Purpose Room. Please print and fill out the registration form and submit to Chinese school faculty at registration. Payment will be required during registration in the form of Credit Card, Check, or Cash.
